About immunoassay

An immunoassay is a laboratory method that uses antibodies to detect and measure a specific substance in your blood, even when it is present in very small amounts. Immunoassays use antibodies to measure hormones, vitamins and other markers present in very small amounts, such as thyroid hormones.

What immunoassays are used for

This method is widely used for hormone tests (for example thyroid tests such as TSH, T3 and T4), some vitamins, and markers that doctors use to check for infections or monitor certain conditions. The exact list varies from laboratory to laboratory, so please ask us what is available.

Why the method matters

Because immunoassays are very sensitive, they can measure hormones and other markers at the low levels found in the body. Your doctor reads the result together with your symptoms and, often, with earlier reports.

Before your visit

Some hormone tests are best done at a particular time of day, and some may require you to take or skip a dose of medicine, which you should do only on your doctor's advice. Share your request slip with us on WhatsApp and we will tell you how to prepare.

Your report

Report timing depends on the test and is confirmed when the sample is collected. You can choose a printed report or a WhatsApp copy.

Please note: this page explains the service in general terms. It is not medical advice. Ask your doctor which tests you need, and contact Aarogya Seva Lab to confirm that a specific test is available.
